The crusaders in alexiad and Kitabu'l i'tibar

The best way of comprehending the Crusades from the perspective of the Islamic history is to consider them as a whole rather than considering a particular part of it. In this respect, our study tries to explain the concept of the Crusades from general to specific. In this regard, our main topic, the research of the Crusades, began by describing the general state of the Byzantine and the Middle East in that period. The books of Anna Komnene and Usama b Munkız, two main sources, having particular styles which were written during the period of the mentioned expeditions and accepted among historian have been examined in a comparative study. The books and articles of some foreign or Turkish writers have been used to elaborate and to correlate with our study. In addition, the principle of evaluating events according to their own time which is one of the rules of historiography has reflected in throughout our study as much as possible.
