Abstract (EN)
This study aims to compare the views on the issue of "the eternity of the world," which is the first of the three issues where Al-Ghazali accuses the theologians of 'disbelief' in his work titled "The Incoherence of the Philosophers," with Ibn Rushd's objections to Al-Ghazali in his work titled "The Incoherence of the Incoherence." Furthermore, within the study, the views of the theologians on the issue of "the eternity of the world" which motivated Al-Ghazali to write his work, and the ideas of the ancient Greek philosophers that they based their views on are also examined. The views of Al-Ghazali and Ibn Rushd are mutually analyzed based on the evidence they present regarding the subject, and after this analysis, their positions on the subject are examined through each argument in order to reach a conclusion.
