Abstract (EN)

It is known that there is a prejudice against esports both in our country and in the world. While the requirements of the age are constantly changing in short, medium and long terms, it is no longer surprising to see the change in the sports phenomenon. Based on this basis, it is seen that Esports is at the center of the change of the sport phenomenon. Better understanding of the field, exploring and sports etc. It is extremely important to reveal the unknowns in the branches of science. Because the idea that esports is basically done inactive can only be changed with the studies to be done. This thesis aims exactly that. Considering that there is a link between the success of cognitive characteristics and performance level for sports branches, reaction time stands out as extremely important for many sports branches. The basketball branch is extremely fast, contains positions that require instant decisions, and after a certain point, in order for the physical or mental skills to come to the fore along with the fine skills, every action must be close to perfect in order to optimize the performance. Reaction time, on the other hand, is extremely important for this branch, as it takes place in very small scales of a second. In esports, on the other hand, both visual and auditory reaction time is extremely important. Because players have to react quickly and accurately to events with their depth perception, instant decision making and problem solving abilities. Based on this, in this thesis study, it was revealed that esports players were more successful than basketball players in the measurement of visual reaction (FitLight) and auditory reaction with two hands (visual reaction) while sitting, and there was no significant difference between the two groups in all other tests performed while standing and sitting. . In the canonical data, it has been predicted that esports games can be used to improve the reaction times of basketball players.
