Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between body image perception, body awareness, cognitive performance and kinesiophobia in professional amputee soccer players. The 32 participants who were amputee football players between the ages of 17-40; Body awareness was evaluated using the Body Awareness Rate Questionnaire, body image, Amputee Body Image Scale, kinesiophobia, Tampa Kinesiophobia Scale, and cognitive performance using the Stroop Test. Body awareness of 32 amputee soccer players between the ages of 17-40 was assessed using the Body Awareness Ratio Questionnaire, body image using for the Amputee Body Image Scale, kinesiophobia using the Tampa Kinesiophobia Scale and cognitive performance using the Stroop Test. For data analysis, the relationship between two continuous variables was evaluated by Pearson or Spearman Rank correlation coefficients. The correlation between the variable "Mood (Body Awareness Ratio Questionnaire)" and the variable STROOP – A is significant (p<0.05). The direction of the correlation is positive and has a moderate (r=0.342) degree relationship. The correlation between the variable "Total (Body Awareness Ratio Questionnaire)" and the variable STROOP – A is significant (p<0.05). The direction of the correlation is positive and has a moderate (r=0.308) degree relationship. The correlation between the "Awareness (Body Awareness Ratio Questionnaire)" variable and the STROOP – D variable is significant (p<0.05). The direction of the correlation is positive and has a moderate (r=0.390) degree relationship. The correlation between the Amputee Body Image Scale variable and Cognitive Performance Measures is insignificant (p>0.05). The correlation between the Tampa Kinesiophobia Scale variable and Cognitive Performance Measures is insignificant (p>0.05). The correlation between the "Age" variable and the STROOP – A variable is significant (p<0.05). The direction of the correlation is positive and has a moderate (r=0.426) degree relationship. The correlation between the variable "BMI"Body Mass Index and the variable STROOP – B is significant (P<0.05). The direction of the correlation is negative and has a medium (r=-0.496) degree of relationship. It was determined that there was a significant difference between the participants' STROOP – A-B-C variables with and without prosthesis use (p<0.05). As a result of the study, a significant relationship was identified among body image perception, body awareness, cognitive performance, and kinesiophobia. Conclusion; We recommend that amputee football team players include body awareness and cognitive performance educational studies in their rehabilitation programs. In addition, the positive effects of using prosthesis in daily life on body perception and cognitive performance should not be ignored. We think and propose that our study may provide guidance in this regard.
