Abstract (EN)

In 2015, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by the United Nations (UN) require a planned and robust land and water management system to achieve most of them. Land degradation (LD) occurs on terrestrial ecosystems, especially agro-ecosystems, in developed and developing countries in direct proportion to production pressure on land. Land Degradation Neutrality (LDN) is defined as "a situation in which the quantity and quality of land resources required to support ecosystem functions and services and to increase food security remain constant or increase within certain temporal spatial scales and ecosystems". Accordingly, the aim of this study is to test the usability of the "Erosion" rate as a parameter in addition to global indicators in order to effectively ensure the usability of LDN in arid and semi-arid climate conditions. In addition, the relationship between the Net Primary Production data produced by a different method (NASA-CASA) and the Land Productivity Dynamics (LPD) data produced by using LUCD and NDVI was revealed. In this context, it was observed that the largest increase (359%) in land cover land use changes between 1986-2018 in Nallıhan district was in artificial areas. The largest decrease was observed in pastures (42.4%) and then in other areas (36.5%). Looking at the results of land productivity dynamics, forest areas generally exhibit a positive (increasing) trend. All artificial areas are in the "decreasing productivity" class. In the analysis of the change in soil organic carbon between 2000-2018, 91.2% of the area is in the "stable" class, 5.5% is in the "increasing" class, and 3.29% is in the "degraded and "decreasing" class. In arid and semi-arid regions, the erosion parameter works better under LDN in areas where the organic matter content does not change and does not increase by nature. Especially in LDN studies carried out at a detailed scale, the areas to be intervened by engineering and the areas to be left in their natural state are directly reflected on the map by activating additional indicators such as erosion.
