Abstract (EN)

The study is a retrospective study.It was made by making use of the archives of patients diagnosed with urolith and crystalluria, who were brought to Petsmile Animal Hospital with urinary tract disease between 2019-2023.The aim of this retrospective study is to examine the cats brought to the hospital with complaints such as stranguria, dysuria, and hematuria. And the diseased cats were classified and epidemiologically evaluated, considering the breed, age, sex and fertility status. Lower urinary tract syndrome in cats with some clinical signs such as dysuria, pollakiuria, stranguria, periuria and hematuria. Urinary stones constitute approximately 13-28% of lower urinary tract diseases in cats. The most common uroliths in cats are struvite and calcium oxalate crystals. Urolites composed of ammonium urate and cisten are less common. The most common mineral compositions in cats and dogs are magnesium ammonium phosphate (struvite), calcium oxalate, calcium phosphate, ammonium urate, cystine and silica, respectively. In this study, 70% Calcium oxalate, 28% struvite and 2% Urate crystals were found in cats with urolith and crystalluria. Of the cat breeds, 30% European shorthair, 18% Sarman, 30% British Shortair, 14% Scotish Fold, 4% Iranian and 4% Siamese cats. The sex ratios of cats are 18% female and 82% male. 64% of cats are sterile and 36% are non- neutered. When we separate the age groups 8% (4) are 0-1 years old, 54% (27) are 1-4 years old, 36% (18) are 7-10 years old, and 2% (1) are 10 years old.
