Abstract (EN)

The aim of the study is to examine the significance of the relationship between the attitudes of mothers while raising children and their attachment styles in close relationships. For this purpose, 156 mothers with children between the ages of 2-6, living in Istanbul and Yalova provinces, participated in the research. SocioDemographic Information Form, Parental Attitude Scale and Relationship Scales were used to collect the data. In the analysis of the data, descriptive statistics such as frequency, percentage, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, minimum and maximum were used. Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, one of the normality distribution tests, was used in the analysis of the data, and parametric tests were used since the normality assumptions were provided as a result of the analysis. As a result of the research, it was determined that there was a positive and significant relationship between the protective attitude of mothers while raising their children and fearful attachment and preoccupied attachment. A positive and significant relationship was found between authoritarian parenting attitude and preoccupied attachment. As a result of the research, it was determined that there was a negative significant relationship between the overprotective parental attitude of the mothers while raising their children and the secure attachment. Keywords: Childrearing Attitude, Attachment Style, Mother Child Relationship
