Abstract (EN)
In this study, it is aimed to examine the role of life purpose in the effects of life projects created by mothers on the self-control of the juveniles in detention. In the study, predictive correlational method based on relational screening, which is one of the quantitative research methods, was used. Socio-demographic Information Form, Ontological Well-Being Scale, Life Purpose Scale (P-YS) Self-Control Scale were used as data collection tools in the research. The homogeneous sampling method, which is a purposeful type of non-random sampling methods, was used in the study. The participants of the study consisted of a total of 250 people aged 14-18. IBM Spss 26 and Lisrel 8.8 package programs were used to analyze the data obtained in the research. Independent samples t-test and one-way analysis of variance were used to test the differences between the groups, and Pearson correlation analysis and path analysis techniques were used to evaluate the relationships between the variables. According to the results of the research; The ontological well-being levels of the participants who were not driven to crime were significantly higher than the participants who were driven to crime. It was also found that there was a significant difference between the groups in life goals. The average life goals of the children who were not driven to delinquency are significantly higher than the average of the children who are driven to delinquency. Considering the level of self-control, it was found that there was a significant difference between the groups. The self-control average of the children delinquent is significantly higher than the average of the children who are not delinquent. Since low scores from the Self-Control Scale indicate high self-control, the self-control skills of children who are not driven to crime are higher. It was found that there was a significant difference between the children's ontological well-being levels according to their future plans. According to the analyzes made to determine the source of this difference, the ontological well-being level of those who want to attend school and have a job is significantly higher than those who want to work and earn money, those who can't think about the future, and those who don't have any plans. A significant difference was found between the groups according to the level of life purpose. According to the analysis on the source of the difference, the level of life purpose of those who want to attend school and have a job is significantly higher than those who want to work and earn money, those who can't think about the future, and those who don't have any plans. A significant difference was found between the groups according to the level of self-control. According to the analyzes to determine the source of the difference, the level of self-control of those who want to attend school and have a job is significantly lower than those who want to work and earn money, those who can't think about the future, and those who don't have any plans. According to the results of the structural model used in the study, it is seen that regret, activation and nothingness, which are the sub-dimensions of ontological well-being, explain 23% of the variance in life goals. Life goals, on the other hand, explain 19% of the variance in the level of self-control.
