Abstract (EN)

This master thesis study titled 'The Awareness of Alageyik (Dama dama L.) Which is Spreading in Antalya Flat Pine Wild Life Development Field' was carried out in Isparta University of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Forestry Department of Wildlife Ecology and Management. The field studies were carried out in Antalya Province, Düzlerçamı Wildlife Development Area, Nebiler, Düzlerçamı, Yağca, Çakmak, Somaklı, Kocaköy, Karakese, Orta village, Yukarı karaman, Ayanlar, Bıyıklı, Orta neighborhood, Çığlık, Bayatbademleri and its vicinity in 2019 and 2021 at the same time. In the study, the awareness levels of the local people on the fallow deer species were identified using a questionnaire and interview technique. Ms Excell program was used to evaluate the survey results. According to the results, it has been revealed that the main reason for the extinction of the fallow deer species is the conflict between humans and wildlife. For instance, wild animals might damage the gardens of peasants. On the other hand, pesticides and fertilizers used in agriculture adversely affect wildlife. With this thesis, it has been clearly seen once again that in order to prevent these conflicts, the institutions under the General Directorates of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, which are responsible for the main conservation and control, need to be more careful about the studies of wildlife protection, establish more reliable relations with the local people, cooperate with local people at every stage of the solution of problems that arise in the field of wildlife, take necessary precautions and find long-term and exact solutions to this important problem of the local people.
