Roman Period ceramics of terrace house at antandros

This thesis covers the Roman ceramics material recovered from the works carried out in order to uncover the Terrace house belonging to the Late Roman settlement of Antandros antique city and to determine the foundation and usage phases. In this context, primarily form groups evaluated 771 items examined. In the classification made according to their forms, Italian Sigillata, East Sigillata A, B, C, Pergamon Sigillata groups in the terra sigillata, African Red Slip Ware, Phocean Red Slip Ware and Light-Colored Ware groups in the red slip ceramic groups were determined. Other than these groups, there are other forms such as oil lamps, oinophoros, canteen, pyksis, gray ceramics, thin walled ware, unguentarium, Jugs, amphora, cooking wares, lekanai, situla, storage vessels and lids. In addition to the Asia Minor productions that are seen intensively in the mentioned examples, the productions of Italy, Africa, Attica and Pontus have also been determined. In addition, numerous local production ceramics have been identified. Although some of these local productions imitate the dominant ceramic production, the original forms are also seen. When ceramics which were recovered Terrace House and included in the thesis is evaluated in a historical way, the earliest examples included in examples of Eastern Sigillata A are belongs the end of 2th century BC-beginning of the 1st century BC. The latest examples are seen among the late production belonging to the 7th century of Africa and Phocean Slip Ware.
