The effect of Arabic literature on Turkish literature and common literary arts (al-Badi)

In the Arabs before Islam, the habit of using language in a beautiful and expressive way was something that the society valued. In fact, the emergence of a poet from a tribe was even considered superior to the emergence of a commander and was considered an honor. The Holy Qur'an, a masterpiece of literature, was revealed to this society where literary taste was at its peak. The Qur'an's unanswered challenges prompted Muslims to research on the Qur'an's eloquence, and as a result of these studies, the science of rhetoric became a branch of science whose rules became clear over time. Religion is the most important element that supports the culture of a society and changes or rebuilds it according to its place. For this reason, just as there were some changes in Arabic literature after the advent of Islam compared to the literature of the Jahiliye Period, there were also serious differences in Persian and Turkish literatures, which later came under the umbrella of Islamic culture and civilization. Especially the Turks, who flocked to Islam in masses from the 10th century onwards, were included in a literary basin with aesthetic forms and encountered a rich literary accumulation. The Turkish nation, which felt the spirit of Islam in their identity, was influenced by Arabic literature in terms of language, meter, rhyme, verse form, verse type, verse unit and the sources used in their literature, especially in the period of divan literature. Again, in terms of literary arts, there was a great deal of influence up to nomenclature, and as a result of this interaction, many literary arts that were not seen before Islam gained existence in Turkish literature. Therefore, while Turkish literature before Islam was simpler and did not draw attention to its artistic aspect, after Islam, a Turkish-Islamic literature adorned with arts emerged with the influence of Islamic culture and civilization. This study consists of an introduction and two chapters. In the introduction, the subject, scope, purpose, importance and method of the research are emphasized. In the first part, cultural changes and the impact of Arabic literature on Turkish literature as a result of these changes and the areas of influence; In the second part, the common literary arts used in Arabic and Turkish literature are analyzed with examples.
