Abstract (EN)

In this study, the effect of enrichment doses and durations (for rotifer: 6-12 hours; for artemia: 12-24 hours) of 2 formulated emulsions (enrichment dose; for Emulsion-I and Emulsion-II; 0.6 g/L) and commercial products (Olio ω-3, Red Pepper and (n-3) Top Rich; firm recommended rates) on fatty acid composition of rotifer (Brachionus plicatilis) and artemia (Artemia franciscana) were investigated. According to the feeding regimens applied in rotifer cultures, the highest number of individuals relating to the population increase and growth rate were found as 1250  11.54 rot./ml and 0.37  0.00 division/day with DHA-Gold + Emulsion-II. The emulsion oils used enrichment of rotifers had a positive effect on the population growth. In terms of the fatty acid content of rotifers, the highest EPA: DHA-Gold + Olio ω-3 (% 12.53 ± 0.03), DHA: DHA-Gold + Red Pepper (% 25.49 ± 0.10) and PUFA: DHA-Gold + Emulsion-II (% 39.25 ± 0.01). The highest fatty acid content of A. franciscana was determined in enrichment with EPA: Olio ω-3 (% 7.62 ± 0.04), DHA: Red Pepper (% 8.35 ± 0.01), PUFA: Emulsion-I (% 43.17 ± 0.08). According to the feeding protocol applied to live feeds, the enrichment with emulsion oils in rotifers for 6 hours and artemia for 24 hours appeared to be effective in increasing the PUFA content.
