Occupational health and safety precautions in asbestos industry

Because of it's toughness and heat isolation properties, asbestos has been used since around 500s BC in many areas. After it's harmful effects was revealed, asbestos's usage has been prohibited by regulations and punitive sanctions in Europe and other industrialized countries which are mining asbestos. However, because of alternatives on par with asbestos's supreme properties weren't able to be found and asbestos being a commerically profitable product, it is still being used and as a result asbestos related occupational diseases emerge. Developing countries like ours, recently prohibiting asbestos's production and usage by domestic and international regulations have been done as in the developed countries since the beginning of 21st century. In this study, regulations in the scope of occupational health and safety about asbestos exposure were inspected and it has been understood that further precautions needed to be taken due to collected evidences regarding comparisons between them.
