Life, art and poems of the minstrel Hasan Korkmaz

The minstrels and the minstrel tradition have an important place in Turkish culture. Minstrels are important people who are the spokespersons of that society, reflecting the values of the culture to which they are connected with their poems. The tradition of minstrelsy is also a set of cultural values that play a role in the transmission and permanence of these poems from generation to generation. Minstrel literature, which was called the minstrel-baksı tradition before the adoption of Islam, emerged and began to take shape after the adoption of Islam. Towards the end of the 15th century, with this tradition that emerged in Anatolia, minstrels began to take the place of bards. The tradition of minstrelsy and minstrel literature has taken an important place in Turkish culture from the XVI. century to the present. The tradition of minstrelsy as the representative of Turkish cultural structure has come to the present day and continues today. One of the places where the tradition of the minstrel is kept alive today is Kahramanmaraş. Many poems and minstrels have been brought up in the tradition of minstrelsy Kahramanmaraş. One of these minstrels is the minstrel Hasan Korkmaz. This study has been prepared to reveal information about the life and art of the minstrel Hasan Korkmaz, one of the strong alive representatives of the minstrelsy tradition of Kahramanmaraş, and to prevent this information from being passed on to future generations and forgotten. In this study, the minstrel Hasan Korkmaz's life, minstrelsy, and poems by examining, and it was tried to determine his place in the tradition of love and Kahramanmaraş tradition of minstrelsy.
