Abstract (EN)

The place of language, which serves as a natural means among people, at the point of history, unity and continuity of a nation is undeniable. The sophistication of a society's literature is also directly proportional to the sophistication of that society's language. The Turkish nation, which has a history of 2500 years, has dominated in different geographies throughout history, and its language has gained riches with this respect and taken its rightful place as a developed and important literary language. The Turkish language gave its first literary works through its oral tradition and continued its development in different geographies and different branches in the following centuries. Genres such as koşuk and sagu, which are the product of oral tradition, were performed by bards with an instrument called kopuz. While folk literature in Republican Turkey experienced a revival and a process of seeing the value it deserves, Âşık Veysel found himself at the heart of this process. In this study, which was prepared as a master's thesis, 157 poems belonging to the poet were examined in the poetry book Dostlar Beni Hatırlasın, which was collected years after the death of Âşık Veysel and came out of the İnkılâp publishing house, which contained all his poems. In our study, an Âşık Veysel dictionary was created, and the frequency index of words is also indicated in the dictionary. Additionally, the groups of words used by the poet were determined and studied in the context of vocabulary. The method of classification in the form of main titles and subheadings was preferred when examining the poet's vocabulary. Based on the poems of Âşık Veysel, who has a rich vocabulary, his literary identity was tried to be analyzed and explained. Keywords: Groups of words, dictionary, index, Âşık Veysel
