Archaic Classic and Hellenistical Period lamps of Assos

This study is indended to determine the typology and chronology of the Archaic, Classical and Hellenistic terracotta lamps which have been unearthed between the years 1981?2005 with the help of comparision of the same or similar examples that have absolute date and found in the Assos excavations house store.It is given knowledge about the parts of the lamp, stylistic evolution, metod of manufacture and using in daily life in the first part.After Assos history and find place of the lamps, Assos lamps divided into general main types in the chronological periods. Characteristic features of each types, method of manufacture, glaze and clay features and ornamental features are explained. Lamps or lamp fragments are deal with belonging type. This study includes 207 lamps or lamp fragments.Drawings of the top and bottom parts of the lamps or lamp fragments are given in text and photographs with scale are given in plates.In the last part numerical dustribition of the lamps with find place in periods are clarified with tableau. It has been maintained of an evaluation of the connexion of the lamps to the regions and local and imports products are strive to clarified.
