Abstract (EN)

Employee motivation is one of the main components of the employees? attitudes towards his/her duties in the company. Employee motivation, which is effective in the productivity of the employee, is an important concept for enterprises. Some research showed that the most effective factor among the ones affecting the employees was the attitudes of the manager towards the employees. It is possible to conclude that one of the reasons for the manager?s either negative or positive attitudes towards the employees is the motivation of the manager. It means that a manager having low motivation can affect his/her subordinates negatively by his/her negative attitudes towards them. To sum up, the manager can motivate his/her subordinates to a certain point, only if he/she is motivated. This thesis aimed at exploring the effect of level of managers? motivation on the level of teachers? motivation. To this aim, motivation levels of high school managers and teachers reporting them are investigated. According to the results, managers? motivation level from social status and manager?s behaviors had significantly effect on teachers? motivation level from job related issues, and managers? motivation level from job content and compensation had significantly effect on teachers? motivation from the issues that were not job related.
