Abstract (EN)

This study was conducted to reveal the positive and negative aspects of the European Union by examining its effects on Turkey's agricultural policy. The study begins by discussing the establishment process of the European Union, its expansion policies and agricultural policies towards Turkey from a historical perspective. Issues such as the evolution of the European Union's agricultural policy, common agricultural policy and support mechanisms were examined, and the role of Turkey's adaptation process related to these policies and economic integration was analyzed in a detailed way. The study emphasized the contribution of the agricultural sector to economic development and manifested that the European Union's Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) is important not only for EU countries but also for trade relations with other countries. Focusing on the goals of sustainable economic growth and income security of agricultural policies, the study emphasized the effects of Turkey's increasing economic integration within the framework of the customs union agreement with EU on the Turkish agricultural sector. However, it has been stated that while this integration offers opportunities for Turkish farmers, it also brings challenges by increasing competition. Throughout the process of carrying out this study, it became clear that the agricultural policy of the European Union is a factor shaping Turkey's agricultural sector. It was also concluded that the difficulties and advantages faced by Turkey in the adaptation process should be analyzed.
