Effects of forage pea (Pisum arvense L.) with grains mixture ratios on yield and quality in Aydın conditions

Aim: This research was conducted to determine the effects of binary mixture ratios of forage pea with barley, oat and triticale on hay yield and quality. Material and Method: Randomized blocks trial design was used in the study, which was carried out with 3 replications in the trial land of Aydın Adnan Menderes Faculty of Agriculture during the 2021-2022 vegetation period. As research materials, Tashkent variety of forage pea (Pisum arvense L.), İmbat variety of barley (Hordeum vulgare L.), Avar variety of oat (Avena sativa L.), Aegean Star variety of triticale (xTriticosecale Wittmack) were used. In the research, plants were mixed in the ratio of forage pea:wheataceae 40%:60%, 50%:50%, 60%:40%and pure cultivation of each plant was applied. In the research, plant height, stem diameter, green grass yield, hay yield, crude protein ratio, crude protein yield, ADF, NDF and relative feed value parameters were examined. Findings: As a result of the study; the highest green grass yield was obtained from a mixture of 4977.8 kg 60%forage pea + 40%oat per decare, and the highest dry grass yield was obtained from the application of 1725.6 kg 100%barley per decare. The lowest ADF and NDF ratios were obtained from 60%forage pea + 40%barley and 50%forage pea + 50%triticale mixtures, respectively. The highest crude protein ratio was found to be 14.67%in a 50%forage pea + 50%barley mixture. Conclusion: It was concluded that planting forage pea in mixture with grasses is more suitable in terms of yield and quality than plain plantings. Among the parameters examined, the most appropriate mixture ratio was found to be 60%forage pea + 40%oat or 50%forage pea + 50%triticale. It was concluded that this mixture can be recommended considering the yield and quality characteristics for the same or similar ecological conditions in which the study was conducted.
