Prof.Dr. Ergül YAŞAR.Assist. Prof.Dr. Mustafa AKYILDIZThe carbonate rocks constitutes the higher portion of the raw material in cementindustry. In this study, the usage as a cement limestone raw materials of Bağcılarand Burhan ( Tarsus-Mersin) regions were investigated, to be used as raw materialin the cement industry. First of all the 1:10000 scale detail geological map of theregion was prepared. Then, the thicknesses and the underground variation of theunits were investigated by 18 boreholes with total depth of 505m. According to thechemical analysis, 2.15 million tonnes of appropriate reserve was determined to beused in cement industry.Keywords: Limestone, Drilling, Cement, ReserveII
