Abstract (EN)

In today's world, where information is just a click away, everybody is trying to keep up with technology that is constantly innovating. Each sector has taken its share from the social and economic changes experienced over time, and has shown development and change. The developments experienced deeply affected the press sector, and caused the diversification of media tools and radical changes in terms of structuring. The press has a great power to create an ideology and uses this power over the public opinion. Over the years, this situation has attracted the attention of some segments of the society. Capital owners or holdings have bought small, medium and large-scale press enterprises and distribution channels, leading to the emergence of the concepts of accumulation, concentration and monopolization in the sector. In the context of the monopolistic structure formed in the sector, the basic principles of the press are ignored due to monopolizations and there may be many situations that do not comply with the ethical framework. This study aims to reveal the ethical problems arising in the context of the monopolization of press enterprises and distribution channels. The solution suggestions for the detected problems were tried to be presented in a detailed and explanatory manner by blending the findings and data obtained through the descriptive analysis method. By making in-depth interviews with the veterans who have devoted their years to the press industry, their thoughts on the issue were conveyed without distortion.
