Development and evaluation of the construction technology in the architecture of westernization period

From the first quarter of the 18.th century, an opening was started towards the occidental civilization at the Ottomans; and this westernise was turned into a rooted renewal action at the government and society structure with the Political Reforms of Abdülmejid (Tanzimat Period). Even the reflection of these changes on the city physiognomy was new place organizations, new types, design forms shaping principles together with the transition from the architecture to the contemporary architecture in the construction technology field. The constructed buildings, which were built with the stone constructing as the model of occidental architectures, during the modernization, still have been the biggest part of today's construction potential. These building which demonstrate the social and cultural structures, the architectural comprehension and economical trends of the period, are our cultural heritages should be saved with the value that they carried. Construction technologies with the industrial environment, technical supports and datum which determinate to the standards of the period are being an another factor to evaluate the cultural identity of these buildings which should be saved. Even at this work, reducing of the saving conscious towards this scope and the determining of technological datum and standards which gives way to revalue of the period buildings; was aimed by dimensioning of the cultural mission which were carried by construction technology of architecture of westernising period. At the direction of this aims, the transformation of the social, economical, architecturel and the technological structure, the changes at the political, institutional and legal orders of the state during the occidental, and by the side effects of the relational with occidental civilization to the shape of the process of construction technology was scrutinized. Also structure components and using types of their technologies were confirmed in an explaining which was supported by the visual documents as, choosing some samples between the term buildings which are carrying architectural value and symbolic feature in the city tissue. A researching method was fixed by changing criterions and developing profiles of construction materials and technologies within historical process of architectural term was submitted with the datum taken up from this evolution.
