Abstract (EN)
Every year, around 12 million people are diagnosed with cancer over the world. Annually 7 million patients die of cancer, and 25 million people are living with a diagnosis of cancer. By now, many chemotherapeutic drugs have been developed as anticancer agents, but most of them are inadequate for cancer treatment because of their absence of specificity against cancer cells and their high risk of toxicity to normal cells. As a consequence, pharmaceutical researchers have concentrated on the create of more spesific and less toxic anticancer agents. Thiazole ring, has gained great importance due to its presence in the structures of biologically active molecules and the substituents in a particular position of the thiazole ring significantly affect the biological activity. There are studies that thiazoles have many biological activities such as antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, antitumor, antituberculosis, antidiabetic, antiviral and antioxidant. In the literature, many natural and synthetic thiazole derivatives have been reported. Bleomycine, dasatinib, ixabepilon and tiazofurin, anticancer agents, carry thiazole ring and also,in recent years, compounds bearing thiazole ring have been found in inducing apoptotic mechanism. The aim of this study is to evaluate the cytotoxic, apoptotic gene expression effects of synthesized thiazole derivatives. The cytotoxicity against compounds A459, PANC-1 (cancer cell lines) and CCD-19-lu and Htert-hpne (normal cell lines) cells will be investigated by MTT assay of thiazole derivative derived compounds. Compounds with significant cytotoxic effect; apoptotic effects will be evaluated with flow cytometry methods and then their effects on apoptotic and cell proliferation genes will be investigated.
