Abstract (EN)
Cowpea's high protein content has positive effects on human health, besides the potential to meet the protein requirements of people with low income can be made with the use of low-input farming has led to increased interest in this species. A total 75% of Turkey's fresh cowpea production receives from Aegean region, and 45% of this production provided by the Izmir province, local populations have different features is used extensively as production material. The aim of the project is, determination of morphologic-agronomic traits and storage facilities of 32 local cowpea genotypes which collected from Aegean and Mediterrenean region. Data were evaluated and variability of examined traits and their corresponding value were calculated. In addition, principal component analysis was applied using with genotype x traits data and dendrogram were made basis on principal components analysis axis. According to dendogram the genetic variability of genotypes changed between %75-%98. The high genotypic variation was assessed among genotypes based on evaluated plant traits. Due to the agro-morphologic results 11 genotype selected for post-harvest analysis. Between 11 cowpea genotypes BC1, BC26 ve BC31 had losed less weight.
