Abstract (EN)

The experiment was carried out to determine the adapation capability of 7 foreign walnut cultivars and 6 local walnut cultivars and genotypes in producer orchard that established in 7 x 8 m spacing in Uşak ecological condition in 2017. In the experiment it was investigated the phenological, morphological and pomological characteristics of walnut cultivars. In the study, all of the local walnut cultivars, except for Balkal genotype, were earlier leafing than foreign walnut cultivars. The leafing of walnut cultivars was found the earliest in Şebin (27 March-4 April) and Oğuzlar-77 (28 March- 4 April), and the latest in Cisco (25-29 April) and Balkal (24-30 April). Kaman-1 cultivar was homogomous, Oğuzlar-77 and Arslan-1 cultivars were protogynous, and other cultivars were protandrous blooming type. The percentage of lateral fruitfulness in walnut cultivars varied between 10% (Balkal) and 90% (Pedro). In the result of the pomological in 13 different walnut cultivars and genotypes, nut weight is between 10.23 g (Oğuzlar-77) - 15.28 g (Arslan-1), kernel weight is between 4.38 g (Pedro) - 8.16 g (Arslan-1), kernel percentage is between 34.96% (Cisco) - 59.70% (Şebin), and shell thickness is between 1.61 mm (Oğuzlar-77) - 2.78 mm (Cisco). By weighed grading test created for late leafing, lateral fruitfulness and high fruit quality, the foreign walnut cultivars, except for Tulare, have the higher scores than local cultivars and genotypes.
