Abstract (EN)

Comfort is an important determinant of consumer satisfaction for garments. Socks provide both thermal and sensory comfort of people by creating a barrier between the foot and the environment. Foot comfort condition is very important as it has a great influence on the overall comfort of the body. Foot comfort condition is very important as it has a great influence on the overall comfort of the body. Socks are of great importance for the baby's health and comfort. For this reason, it is necessary to consider many factors in the production of baby socks. It should have anti-bacterial properties that allow breathing, absorb sweat. While tight socks prevent the development of the foot, socks that are not permeable to air and water vapor may also disturb the child. For this reason, textile material selection should be made considering the thermal comfort properties in baby socks designs. It is necessary to know the performance characteristics of the socks before use and to provide baby foot comfort in this way. In this thesis, samples of dyed and undyed baby socks with different structural properties produced from different fibers will be collected randomly from stores and markets, and their comfort properties and antibacterial performances will be determined by tests in accordance with international standards. The comfort and antibacterial properties will be compared depending on the fabric structural properties, fiber type and production method. Thermal comfort properties of socks; air permeability (TS 391 EN ISO 9237 (T)), Thermal Permeability Resistance Measurement (Sweating Guarded) (TS EN ISO 11092), Water Vapor Permeability Resistance Measurement (Sweating Guarded) TS EN ISO 11092), Thermal Conductivity (TS EN 12667) Hydrophility (TS 866) (analysis will be determined. Antimicrobial activities against various bacterial and yeast species will be measured according to the JIS 1902 standard. In addition, the physical properties are determined by applying burst strength (ISO 13938), dimensional change after washing (TS EN ISO 3759 (T), pilling tests (TSE EN ISO 12945-2), Fabric - Unit Area Weight (gram weight, TS 251 (T)). will be determined. With the results obtained, it is planned to contribute to the creation of detailed information sources as a database about the performance characteristics of baby socks.
