Abstract (EN)

Evaluation of the Validity and Reliability of the Assessing the Severity of Uncomplicated Diaper Dermatitis in Infants Scale Aim: This research was designed methodologically to evaluation of the validity and reliability of the assessing the severity of uncomplicated diaper dermatitis in ınfants scale assess the Turkish adaptation, validity, and reliability of the Assessing the Severity of Uncomplicated Diaper Dermatitis in Infants Scale developed by Buckley (2016). This study is methodologically planned for evaluation of validity and reliability of the Turkish revision of Assessing the Severity of Uncomplicated Diaper Dermatitis in Infants Scale originally developed by Buckley and friends. Methods: The sample of this study consisted of babies who admitted to Ege University Hospital and agreed to participate in the study. Data of the study were collected between July 2018 and December 2018. The scale was reviewed by 13 experts in the field for content validity. The number / percentage, t test, Cronbach's alpha reliability coefficient, independent interobserver compliance test methods were used ın the analysis of the data. Findings: In the validity study of the scale, the translation of the scale from English to Turkish was performed for the language validity and then translated from Turkish into English. After the validity of the language was validated, the scale was presented to 10 faculty members who were experts in different health fields. Expert opinions were evaluated using the Davis technique. According to expert opinions, the content validity ratio of all items was found to be "0.90" and the Content Validity Index was found to be"0.98". In the analysis of comparison of known groups for construct validity; According to gestation weeks, 3 groups were compared in terms of premature, mature and postmatal groups (x2:27.597,p<0.005). According to these results, it was determined that the Assessing the Severity of Uncomplicated Diaper Dermatitis in Infants Scale was a valid measurement tool for Turkish society. The item total score correlations were examined for the reliability study of the the Assessing the Severity of Uncomplicated Diaper Dermatitis in Infants Scale. The correlation coefficients of the scale items with the total scale of the scale were between 0.725 and 0.898. It was determined that the p value calculated for the item-total scale point correlation of all items was statistically significant and thus the item was not removed from the scale (p<0.001). The Cronbach's Alpha correlation coefficient was found to be 0.80 for the whole scale, 0.73, 0.80, 0.78 and 0.79 for the subscales. The correlation coefficient of the score of each item and the scale score is r = 0.725 - 0.898 (p < .001). Compliance between two observers (ICC: 0.999) and compliance for each substance (ICC: 0.997) were greater than 0.80. There is a high level of compliance between the two observers. The intraclass correlation coefficient between the two measurements was 0.987 for the nurse measurement and 0.995 for the researcher. As a result of the analysis, it was found that there was a statistically significant positive correlation between the two measurements of all items of the scale in both observers. According to these results, it was determined that the Assessing the Severity of Uncomplicated Diaper Dermatitis in Infants Scale was a reliable measurement tool for Turkish society. Conclusion: As a result of the analyzes and evaluations, the Severity of Uncomplicated Diaper Dermatitis in Infants Scale is a valid and reliable measurement tool for Turkish society. The scale was developed in line with these results can be used successfully for research to be done in Turkey. Key Words: Infant; Diaper Dermatitis; Assessing; Validity; Reliability
