Examination of recreational benefit perception activity experience level in physical education teachers

The aim of this thesis is to examine physical education teachers' recreational benefit perception and activity experience level scores. In addition, another aim of this study is to examine the perception of recreational benefits and activity experience level scores according to different demographic variables (gender, marital status, age, educational status, district of employment, status of the institution of employment, income status, years of teaching experience, activity experience, activity status and time spent in the last institution of employment). A total of 275 physical education teachers working in schools affiliated to National Education in the central districts of Mersin province participated in the study voluntarily. Personal information form developed by the researcher, "Recreational Benefit Scale" and "Recreational Activity Experience Scale" were used as data collection tools. Statistical analysis of the data was performed using SPSS 26 Package program. Descriptive information about the participants is given as percentages and frequencies. Since it was determined that the data showed normal distribution by looking at the skewness and kurtosis levels, T-Test for two variables from parametric tests, Anova for more than two variables and Tukey from Post Hoc tests were used for the scale and sub-dimensions. In the findings obtained, it was found that there was a significant positive relationship between physical education teachers' perceptions of recreational benefits and activity experience levels. In addition, significant differences were obtained in the recreational benefit scale and recreational activity experience scale according to gender, marital status, educational status, the district in which you continue your profession, the institution where you work, years of teaching experience, income status and activity status variables (p<0.05). In other variables, it was found that there was no significant difference in physical education teachers' recreational benefit perceptions and recreational activity experience levels (p>0.05). As a result, it can be said that as physical education teachers' perceptions of recreational benefits increase, their recreational activity experience levels will increase.
