Evaluation of physical education teachers' professional values ​​and lifelong learning tendencies

The aim of this study is to evaluate the relationship between the professional values of physical education teachers and their lifelong learning tendencies. Another aim of the study is to compare the differences between some demographic characteristics of teachers, their professional values and lifelong learning tendencies. Research; It was designed according to the quantitative research model, and a method for descriptive and relational scanning, which aims to reveal the current situation, was preferred. The universe of the research consists of physical education teachers who teach in the public and private sectors in Istanbul, and the sample consists of voluntary participants (n=190) determined by the convenience sampling method. Personal information form, professional value scale and lifelong learning scale were applied to the participants. The obtained data were transferred to the SPSS program, and Independent sample T test and Oneway ANOVA analysis were applied as analysis.Post-hoc analysis LSD test was used to determine the difference between groups. Pearson Correlation Analysis was preferred to determine the correlation levels. Statistically, p<0.05 was considered statistically significant. As a result, it has been determined that the professional value levels and life satisfaction of physical education teachers who participate in the research are at a good level. It has been determined that the professional value and lifelong learning level of male and female physical education teachers have similar characteristics. It is understood that the education variable is not a determining variable in the level of professional value and lifelong learning. It has been determined that there is a difference in the professional ethics level of the teachers with 1-5 years of professional experience compared to the professional experience, where the professional ethics levels are better. It is seen that there is a significant difference in the professional value total score for teachers with 6-10 years of professional experience. It has been determined that lifelong learning differs according to professional experience in the dimension of integration with education. It was determined that the professional values and lifelong learning levels of physical education teachers did not differ significantly according to the departments they graduated from.
