School of physıcal educatıon and sporteducatıon students edutainment approach to study of attıtudes

The usage of the factor of entertainment in the realization of learning with the changes occured in the field of education has given way to the emergence of a new educational approach, namely the edutainment one, aiming mainly at supporting education with entertainment. Within this framework the subject of this research is to put forth the attitudes towards the edutainment, knowledge level and experiences of the students from the School of Physical Education and Sports. If the attitudes towards the edutainment of the students from this school, their knowledge level and experiences can be set forth, the educators may enhance the persistence level of the learning in the individual by making use of the edutainment approach in the environment of learning.The scope of this research has been comprised of the 49% of the students, ie 338 people, that have formal education at the School of Physical Education and Sports, Coach Training in Sports and Recreation and Sports. In order to collect data for the research, the attitude scale regarding the edutainment approach and the satisfaction scale that presents the satisfaction and recommendation have been put to use. In addition, the explanatory factor analysis, correlation analysis and multi linear regression analysis have been utilized while analyzing the data obtained during the research.According to the research findings, the relation among the behavioral factors related to edutainment and the correlations between the factors range from 51 to 63. The lowest relation among the factors is between the perceived learning effectiveness, drama and practice (0,51). On the other side the highest relation among the factors is between the expression, material, drama and practice (0,63). Taking the Pearson Correlation Coefficient into consideration, the relation among all the factors has been observed to be moderate. When analyzed in terms of standardized beta (ß) values concerning the regression model that presents the relation between variables, the factor of perceived learning effectiveness has the most powerful influence on the whole recommendation and satisfaction dependent variable. The other factors such as expression, material, drama, practice and educator and class ambience respectively have been found out to have an influence on all the satisfaction and recommendation dependent variables.As a consequence, it has been determined that there is statistically a significant relation of the edutainment approach with both recommendation dependent variable and satsifaction dependent variable. The satisfaction dependent variable has been determined to have a powerful impact on the recommendation dependent variable, as well.Keywords: Education, Physical Education, Edutainment
