Bedreddin Mahmûd and his life, works, literary personality and his Fevz ü Felâh Mathnawi (Examination-text)

Bedreddin Mahmûdis a scholar who lived between the second half of 15th century and beginnig of 16th century. Bedreddin Mahmûd who known as Molla Kadı Mahmûd too have got four works which are found us one of them is named Fevz ü Felâh mathnawi. Fevz ü Felâh contains explanations of verses and hadits; words and stories of religion men and sufistic saints. This work was written to give advice about religious-ethical-sufistic issues and presented to Sultan Bayezid II. There are two copies, that we could find andone of them is incomplete. We have made partially critical edition by comparing the two copies. The comleted copy was taken as a reference in the rest od the study. The number of verses of this work is 10641. Although the main poetic form in the work is mathnawi, there are also other poetic forms such as kasida, mustazad. There work also contains different kinds such as tawhed, naat, munâcât, methiye mentioning various subjects. Fevz ü Felâh is one of the mathnawi works which aims to enlighten and educate the readers. Some sufistic issues have placed in the work that have religious religious and ethical characters mostly.
