Abstract (EN)

In this study, the informations about Eurasian countries which take part in the book Kitab Masālik va'l-Mamālik reveal the identity of some historians, geographers of 11 th century- like 'Abu Ubayd Abd Allah Ibn Abd Al-Aziz El-Bekri' who worked on translating history, geography, religion, botanics, linguistics and literature. In this book which was written in 1068, Bekri gave information about Europe, Asia, North Africa and Arabian Peninsula. Unlike other Arabian historians and geographers, Bekri gave information about some places he did not visit in person but through getting back to some reports and studies of previous travellers and merchants. Among the sources that bekri benefits from, we can mention Muruj al-Dzahab by Mesudî, briefly Tārih by Taberî, Ma'arif by Ibn Kutayba, Mamālik by Ibn Hurdadzbih, A'laku 'n-Nefise by Ibn Rušd, Agānī by Isfahāni, and Masālik va'l-Mamālik by Yusuf Varrak. In addition, Masālik va'l-Mamālik by Bekri is prepared by being compared with the works that we mentioned.
