Abstract (EN)

Objective: This research was carried out in Aydın province ecological conditions, between 2021-2022, to observe the changes in plant phenology depending on the total temperature demand of Bermuda grass(Cynodon dactylon L.) plants at 5 different temperatures values (50°C, 100 °C, 150 °C, 200 °C, 250 °C) and to determine the appropriate cutting frequency. Materials and Methods: Bermuda grass(Cynodon dactylon L.) variety was used as the material in this study, which was established according to the randomized blocks experimental design. The sowing process was carried out on May 26, 2021. During the experiment; leaf color (1-9), number of tillering (1-5), general appearance (1 9), weed rate (1-5), degree of sparseness (1-9), coverage rate (%),leaf texture (1-9) which determine the quality criteria of grass plants, were examined. Findings: The effect of the interaction of seasons, Growing Degree Days (GDD) temperatures and season x GDD temperatures on leaf color, number of siblings, general appearance, weed rate, degree of sparseness, coverage rate was found to be statistically significant. GDD temperatures for leaf texture were found to be statistically significant. Conclusion: When the research results are taken into account as a whole, results that can achieve higher grass quality were obtained at 50 °C GDD in general for ecology of Aydın province. Alternatively, it can be said that good results were obtained at 100 °C GDD. Keywords: Cynodon dactylon, total temperature, turf grass, cutting frequency.
