Abstract (EN)
Shelter, being one of the most fundamental needs for the continuity of human life, renders the construction sector indispensable. In this context, occupational health and safety (OHS) is of great importance at every stage of the building production process. Concrete, one of the primary structural components of the construction industry, entails various hazards and risks throughout its application process. From a general perspective, the construction sector is among the industries where fatal occupational accidents occur most frequently. While working at heights, crane operations, and falling materials are commonly recognized as major risk factors, concrete pouring operations possess an equally significant risk potential. Accidents that may occur during concrete pouring processes pose serious threats not only to the health and safety of workers but also to the continuity and efficiency of construction activities. The primary objective of this study is to identify potential hazards and risks associated with the concrete pouring process and to determine the necessary preventive measures to be taken against these risks. In doing so, the study aims to enhance the awareness and knowledge levels of both workers and site managers regarding occupational safety, and to contribute to the prevention of possible workplace accidents. Within the scope of this research, the concrete pouring processes in a rough construction project of a factory belonging to a construction company were observed in detail. These observations included the formwork and reinforcement works of columns, shear walls, and slabs prior to concrete pouring, as well as the formwork removal processes following the concrete placement. Based on these observations, the identified hazards and risks were analyzed, and the required safety precautions were systematically outlined.
