Abstract (EN)
The effect of shear wall ratio on earthquake performance of new residential reinforced concrete buildings to be constructed in Isparta province is discussed. In these buildings, the effect of different sizes of shear walls on building performance is analyzed on a total of 18 different models in 5, 10 and 15 storey buildings. In the buildings considered in the study, 12 shear walls in x direction and 12 shear walls in y direction were modeled. Performance projects of these models were prepared in sta4cad program according to multimodal pushover method with nonlinear analysis according to strength and design according to deformation. Periods, base shear forces, beam damage percentages, column damage percentages and quantities of the structure were analyzed. The optimal shear ratio for new residential buildings is 0.8% for 5 stories, 1.25% for 10 stories and 1.6% for 15 stories. With Matlab software, optimal shear wall ratios were found for all buildings between 5-15 storeys.
