Abstract (EN)

In Turkey, which is located in the earthquake zone, the effect of a friction type base insulator on the structures has been examined in order to see to what extent the scientific studies conducted to minimize the loss of life and property that may occur in possible earthquakes and the applications made in line with the data obtained as a result of these studies, reduce the destructive effect of the earthquake. For this, a friction type sole insulator with a single curved surface was added to the base of the sample structure by making calculations. As an example, a 12-storey reinforced concrete building was modeled and cross-section analysis of the columns and beams of the building was carried out. The obtained analysis data was applied in the SAP2000 program in the building designed with and without insulators. Performance analysis and comparison were made for both cases. In both cases, performance analyses were performed according to shape change (ŞGDT). In addition, a stacked plastic knuckle model was used in the application. All the evaluations and analyzes have shown that the use of insulation elements in the design and projecting of buildings greatly reduces the amount of damage to the building elements and increases the performance level of the building at the same rate.
