Examination of Türkiye's mis map with bibliometric analysis method

Management Information Systems (MIS) is a dynamic field that emerges from the convergence of multiple disciplines, examining the role and impact of information technologies in managerial processes. The rapid advancement of technology and its increasingly central role in the business world have led to an expansion and diversification of academic research in the MIS field. Therefore, a comprehensive evaluation of MIS research in Türkiye is crucial for understanding the development of this field and identifying future research trends. To systematically understand and assess the evolving and renewing literature, bibliometric analysis serves as an important tool for grasping academic development and revealing relational connections through systematic and numerical data. The first section of this thesis focuses on the definitions and characteristics of MIS, as well as the historical progress of bibliometric analysis methods. The second section provides a detailed bibliometric analysis of studies conducted in the MIS field in Turkey, with findings evaluated from various perspectives. Finally, the third section assesses the current state of the MIS field based on the conducted analyses and offers recommendations for future research. This study aims to provide a comprehensive evaluation of academic work in the MIS field in Turkey, contributing to the development of the field and guiding future research. Additionally, it seeks to be a valuable resource for comparing Türkiye MIS research with international literature and identifying research gaps in this area.
