Abstract (EN)
This study aims to reveal how the narrative of the novel is affected by problems that arise with modernization in Bilge Karasu's Night novel by considering a literary work with sociological approach. In this study, it was found a)how power is represented, b) how the relationship between power and individual is represented c) and how individual problems created by the relationship between power and individual are represented, using one of the qualitative research methods discource analysis.Thus, in the light of the data in Night novel, the tie between the concepts of totalitarianism, surveillance, violence, rumor, the banality of evel and alienation with the modern period has been interpreted by focusing on context, meaning and reflectivity, which are the basic concepts of discourse analysis. The analysis of the text will be usuful in terms of reading the novel as a critique of the social, individual and political problems experienced in the modern period.
