Evaluation of e-school service by parents of students in the context of information economy: The case of Ağrı province

Information, that creates value on an international scale is an important factor in economic activities. Overusing of information in economic activities, advances in information and communication technologies and the globalization of economic activities have brought about economy of knowledge. The following developments and tools emerged in information and communication technologies within the scope of economy of knowledge provide the innovations in many fields. In our country as well as made in the world. One of these fields is e-school application developed by the Ministry of National Education. E-School application is also a system of school management-information. The purpose of this research is to measure how much the e-School was used by parent and to determine opinions and levels of satisfaction of parents who have students in Anatolian high schools that are the most important of secondary education institutions. The universe of the study consists of the parents (359) of the students studying in Ağrı Province Center Anatolian High Schools. The data collected in the research were analyzed using the SPSS package program (version 25). Descriptive statistical measures (frequency and percentage) exploratory factor analysis for the validity and reliability of the measurements obtained from the measurement tool, Cronbach's alpha coefficient and item total score correlations were used in analyzing of the data. Pearson correlation coefficient was used to analyze the relationship between the total score of the scale and its sub-factors. The skewness and kurtosis coefficients were used to test the normality of the data. Finally, independent samples t-test and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) were used to test the hypotheses within the scope of the research. As a result of the research; In the context of the knowledge economy, the level of parents' use of the E-School Parent Information System differed according to their demographic characteristics. According to the results, the satisfaction level of the students' parents using the application was high. It turned out that the system is generally usable in the context of the knowledge economy. In addition, there are a few problems with the system and suggestions have been made regarding this.
