Abstract (EN)
The Ottoman Empire began to experience political and social transformations with the 19th century. During the transition from an empire with religious, linguistic and ethnic diversity to a nation-state structure, Ottoman intellectuals, who were affected by various political movements, tried to save the state. Ziya Gökalp became an important Turkish intellectual who lived in this turbulent period and left his mark on the period with his ideas. He is an intellectual who read and analyzed the modern and positive information of his time in a scientific way and then adapted it to Turkish society. He is also the founder of Turkish sociology and the pioneer of the history of culture and civilization. One of the most basic features that distinguishes Gökalp from other intellectuals is that he developed a nation-state theory based on social solidarity by bringing political movements into a triple synthesis (Turkification, Islamization, Modernization). This theory is based on a statist and republican basis based on occupational organization. He examined the state, society and occupational organizations within his own political theory and revealed the ideology of the modern Turkish state structure. Gökalp's social, political and many ideas spread to the newly established Turkish State. He was the thought leader of Atatürk in the intellectual establishment of the Republic of Turkey. His thoughts were a guide to many intellectuals of the period and they continue to be valid today.
