Abstract (EN)

The contribution of fossil fuels in energy production is high. Harmful gases released from the use of fossil fuels have become a threat to human health and world order. Since it is predicted that fossil fuels will run out in the coming years, more environmentally friendly methods are needed to reduce the use of fossil fuels in the production of energy. In this study; A gas engine driven air source heat pump was designed to meet the heating needs of the university campus in Burdur. The operating range of the heat pump was determined by determining the lower and upper temperature values in the warming months of Burdur province. The mechanical power of the heat pump is met with the help of a gas engine running on natural gas. Waste heat generated during the use of the gas engine is also included in the heating system. The heating power of the heat pump was calculated with the Engineering Equation Solver (EES) program. The number of gas engines and heat pumps required by the GMIP system was calculated according to the current heating capacity of the university. According to natural gas consumption data in the past periods, it has been calculated that if GMIP is not used, fuel and fuel usage costs can be saved by 63.61% at 40 °C Condenser temperature and 52.78% at 50 °C Condenser temperature.
