The effect of person- organization fit and person-job fit on emotional labor behaviors: A research on bank employees

Today, one of the most important factors that institutions have in order to survive in the competitive environment and to be in an advantageous situation is human resources. It is also important that the human resources of the institutions in the service sector are compatible with the organization and job they work for. In particular, it is important to what extent the emotional labor behaviors of employees who are in constant interaction with customers are affected by person-organization fit and person-job fit. The aim of study is to investigate the effects of person-organization fit and person-job fit on emotional labor behaviors. For this purpose, person-organization fit, person-job fit and emotional labor scales was applied to 324 bank employees working in Aydın province and its districts. The data obtained were analyzed and evaluated with SPSS 25.0 program. As a result of the correlation and regression analysis carried out in accordance with the purpose of the research; it was determined that person-organization fit and person-job fit were negatively correlated with the superficial behavior dimension of emotional labor, and positively correlated with in-depth behavior and sincere behavior. It has been determined that person-organization fit and person-job fit have a negative and significant effect on surface behavior. While the person-organization fit does not have a significant effect on the in-depth behavior, it has been determined that the person-job fit has a positive and significant effect on the in-depth behavior. Finally, it was determined that person-organization fit and person-job fit positively affected sincere behavior in a significant way.
