Abstract (EN)

With emerging technology, demand for advanced comfort products with high-performance and protection are increasing day by day Methods which will not harm ecological system during production process and materials which are natural and recyclable play an active role in consumer demands. With development of environmental awareness, content of high value-added products has become an important criterion. Increasing of environmental pollution, decreasing of oil and water reserves; rising temperatures due to global warming are evidences of need of new generation fibres and need of increasing their area of uses. Anti-bacterial products are leading textile products through their functional properties of protection of health, personal hygiene and comfort. Antibacterial products prevent growth of bacteria and fungi, provide hygiene, avoid odor and pollution generated by micro-organisms on the product and prevent discoloration and stain formation. Being producted from renewable resources and degraded in nature after completing their times of use are increase added values of textile products. These products are used widely in many areas such as work-wear, hospital garments, military clothing, home textiles, baby clothing, sportswear, underwears and socks. Within this thesis, biodegradable, deodorizer, anti-bacterial knitted fabrics were developed as using polylacticacit (PLA) and chitosan fibers with cotton and lyocell fibers. Primarily, constructions of fabric had been determined, to obtain an effective feature, various mixture ratios were developed and yarn production were realized. Following, dyeing operations were realized as using reactive and disperse dyes. Fabrics were tested for their antibacterial and deodorizing properties to determine which structure and mixture of fabric has optimum effect. Selecting optimal feature-strength values of fabric structures, they were tested to determine their mechanical and physical properties. Within this thesis, besides their natural antibacterial features, new formed textile structures were examined according to their additional features of UV resistance, fireproofing and etc.
