Abstract (EN)
The Byzantine Empire was founded by a Roman commander of pagan origin in the 4th century and was destroyed in the 15th century during the reign of an emperor who was a Greek-speaking, orthodox Christian and raised in the palace. Thanks to the legacy of the byzantine richly literature, it is possible to obtain very detailed information on both these elements and the ceremonial tradition.
