Abstract (EN)

Kidney transplantation improves quality of life, reduces morbidity and mortality compared to dialysis, is also more advantageous in terms of cost-effectiveness and is considered the most effective RRT. Despite all the advantages of kidney transplant treatment, many problems such as chronic allograft damage, treatment-related malignancies, and side effects of immunosuppressive therapy have not been solved yet. These inflammatory processes have made the follow-up of the kidney transplant patient difficult and has led to the need to search for new inflammatory markers to be used in determining the post-transplant progression, managing complications and in the treatment process. In this study, it was aimed to guide us by comparing hematological indices and serum atherogenic indices which are easily accessible and accepted as indicators of inflammation, in renal transplantation patients with an inflammation process before and after transplantation .35 patients who applied to the nephrology outpatient clinic who were followed up with the diagnosis of kidney transplantation were included in the study. Chi-square analysis (Pearson Chi-square), Mann Whitney-U test, Shapiro Wilk analysis and SPSS 22 package program were used in the analysis of the data. The significance value was taken as p≤ 0.05. In the study, 16 (45.7%) of the patients were female and 19 (54.3%) were male. The mean age was 42.7±12.5(min =20, max=65). While no significant difference was observed between the PLR and AIP levels of the patients included in the study before and after transplantation, a difference was observed between the NLR rates. A statistically significant increase was found in the NLR rate after transplantation (p=0.015) As result, we think that NLR, AIP and PLO, which are used as inflammatory markers, are inexpensive and easily accessible, can be a guide in showing inflammation in kidney transplant patients and in managing complications associated with the inflammation process, predicting allograft damage, side effects of immunosuppressive drugs and cardiovascular risks. However, we believe that more comprehensive studies are needed in this area. Keywords: Kidney transplantation, Neutrophil lymphocyte ratio, Platelet lymphocyte ratio, Serum atherogenic index
