Abstract (EN)

To minimize the effects of earthquakes is one of the most important problems of today's world. For this purpose many natural events are being used as tracer/marker by scientists. The studies showed that soil gas radon can be related with seismicity. In this thesis study, radon concentrations in soil gas and in well water have been monitored by periodic measurements during one year. The relations between the radon variation and the occurred earthquakes has been studied and tried to explain. In the study, soil gas radon concen-trations has been measured by LR-115 type 2 solid state nuclear track detectors, the radon concentrations in well water has been determined by collector-chamber method. Also, natural radioactivity levels of the region soils measured by using gamma ray spectrometry with NaI(Tl) detectors. In the study, it's observed that the soil gas radon concentrations varied between 1,1 and 52,9 kBqm-3.The radon concentrations in well water are measured between 0,3 Bq/L and 156,9 Bq/L. Related with the many earthquakes happened in the study area, it's determined that significant anomalies occurred on the radon concentrations.
