Abstract (EN)
The general framework of this research was determined as to classify leisure time activities as dispositional, to bring a new scale to the literature and to examine the relationship between determined leisure activity tendencies and astrological identity. The research was carried out in two parts, I and II. The first sample of Study I was 177 people aged 18 and over, who were determined by convenience sampling method for exploratory factor analysis; The second sample consists of 264 people who participated in Google Form for exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis. In Study II, which followed the development of the measurement tool, the astrological charts of 36 people selected from the second sample of Study I were quantitatively evaluated by 4 astrology experts and compared with the survey results of the individuals. Within the scope of Study I, the "Leisure Activity Tendencies Scale (LATS)" consisting of a total of 41 statements and 7 dimensions was developed. The 7 dimensions of the scale were respectively named as "Naturalist activity tendency", "Technological activity tendency", "Volunteer and social responsibility activities tendency", "Physical activity tendency", "Spiritual activity tendency", "Artistic activity tendency" and "Social activity tendency". According to the results of Study I, the "LATS", which shows a 7-factor structure, turned out to be a valid and reliable scale. Within the scope of Study II, first of all, 4 astrology experts were asked to evaluate the birth charts of 36 participants according to the dimensions of leisure activity tendencies. A sufficient level of consistency and reliability was determined between the scores of the 4 astrology experts. Finally, in the dependent samples t-test, no significant differences were found between the 36 participants' self-evaluation scores and 4 experts' scores based on the astrological identities, in five of the seven dimensions (p>.05). As a result, it turns out that the experts gave similar scores to the participants' self-evaluation scores in five of the seven leisure activity tendency dimensions.
