Abstract (EN)

There is no doubt that the most important legislative source of our religion, Islam, after the Qur'an, is the sunnah of the Prophet. Hadiths for sure are the most helpful sources for us to understand the Sunnah. Companions and Tabi'un played the most significant role in hadiths to be understood and survided until today. In this study, one of the scholars of Tabiun, Jâbir b. Zayd's life and his studies in the field of hadith are discussed. This thesis consists of an introduction and two sections. In the introduction, the subject of the study, purpose of the study, importance of the study, references of the study and methodology are presented. In the first section, information was given about the political and scientific landscape of the period that Jabir b. Zayd lived. Moreover, his lineage, personality, and works and opinions of al-jarh wa al-tadîl (discrediting and accrediting) scholars about him and his relationship with the Ibadiyya sect are discussed. In the second section, hadiths in Kutub-i Tis'a which came with the narration of Jâbir b. Zayd were ascertain, and the degree of authenticity and the distribution of subjects of these hadiths were discussed. These hadiths have been organized by showing them in tabular form. Additionally, hadiths narrated by Jâbir b. Zayd in Rebi' b. Habîb's Musnad, which is accepted as the most reliable hadith source after the Qur'an from Ibadis' standpoint, the hadiths he narrated were also pointed out.
