Abstract (EN)
One of the most important elements guiding human beings is the sense of religion. As a social being, humans have directed themselves with this inherent sense throughout history. The Creator has constantly sent prophets and divine books to guide them correctly. One of the main agendas of these divine books is the issue of morality. Naturally, the Qur'an, the last of these books, places significant emphasis on morality. This thesis emphasizes the moral transformation and development of contemporary society by referencing the era of ignorance (Jāhiliyya) under the guidance of the Qur'an and Prophet Muhammad, who was tasked with conveying and elucidating the Qur'an. Additionally, it examines how the moral codes facilitating this transformation can contribute to contemporary society. The results of this research show that the Qur'an, by instigating change in individuals, aims to create an ideal society with elevated moral values not only in the past but in every era. The thesis examines the strategy of moral evolution, change, and transformation in a holistic approach, within the context of the universality and dynamism of the Qur'an, focusing on its universal message and centered on the Qur'an. The study includes the moral perception and virtues of the Jāhiliyya period. It also covers the Qur'an's understanding of morality, its moral principles, its intervention in the morality of Jāhiliyya, and the example set by the Prophet Muhammad. The Qur'an has conveyed its moral values to society through a process. It has identified many values, attitudes, and behaviors to be continued or avoided, spanning from belief to worship, and from the individual to society. It has developed not just discourse but action. The Qur'an has reflected its established criteria and related principles into practical life through the role modeling of the Prophet Muhammad. As a result, it has been understood that the morality of the Age of Ignorance, which was based on tribalism and the dominance of ancestral customs and traditions, has been replaced by a moral understanding that prioritizes values defined by divine authority. Acts of generosity and goodness performed with the intention of gaining honor, glory, and pride, driven by a sense of tribalism, have been replaced by values based on seeking Allah's pleasure and piety. It has been identified that the Qur'an presents a moral perception where it itself determines the reference for good and evil; directs believers to internalize and apply these criteria in their lives; and intervenes in the immoral behaviors of the polytheists, setting a vision.
