So in the first part, the life of the poet is introduced with the coinciding aspects of his art. In the rest sixteen parts, the poems that Can Yücel presented in the unity of a book, are analysed and assessed with the features of mentality, structure, theme, way of speaking and manner of telling. The temper and artistic personality of Can Yücel who was born İN 1926 in Kumkapı, İstanbul, were shaped with the effects of the Mevlevî identity of his Grand father Mr. Ali Rıza, the enligtened personality of his Grand mother Mrs. Neyir and his father Hasan Ali Yücel being both a cultural man and a political man.Can Yücel whom we can?t think his poems apart from his life and his life apart from his poems, give his first product of his literary life with his work ?Yazma? published in 1950. It was in the unity of a book. Since 1945 with his poems published in magazines such as Yenilikler, Beraber, Seçilmiş Hikâyeler, Dost, Sosyal Adalet, Şiir Sanatı, Dönem, Yön, Ant, İmece, Papirüs, Yeni Dergi, Birikim, Sanat Emeği, Yazko Edebiyat, Yeni Düşün, Adam Sanat, Sombahar, Leman, Öküz has been tried to improve a specific manner of telling in Turkish poem. The effects of Ancient Greek poem become effective in very few of his first poems which he wrote with the effort of ?establishing an union between Greek and Mevlevîs?. The one predominating in this first work and maintaining its impact in his later poems is the features of Garip poem. In his first work ?Yazma? rhymed way of speaking, excited manner of telling and the joy of living which appears to be the common sense in the poems ar at the forefront. This feature dating fram his second work ?Sevgi Duvarı? which we can think as a transition work gives its may to the poems that handles nature and humanbeing as a whole and to the political poems trying to take the pulse of the agenda and in which an opponent voice is gradually getting louder. However, it is true to tell that Can Yücel continues his Garip Poem influence not in terms of content but structure until his poems in his last work. With his third work ?Bir Siyasînin Şiirleri? Can Yücel completely present his spesific voice and the features of his literary style that he will maintain by improving during his art life. Can Yücel figures as an important poet in Modern Turkish poems with his Works ?Yazma (1950), Sevgi Duvarı (1974), Bir Siyasînin Şiirleri(1974), Ölüm ve Oğlum(1976), Rengâhenk(1982), Gökyokuş(1984), Canfeda (1986), Çok Bi Çocuk (1988), Kuzgunun Yavrusu (1990), Kısa Devre (1990), Gece Vardiyası (1991), Güle Güle/Seslerin Sessizliği (1993), Gezintiler (1994), Maaile (1995), Seke Seke (1997), Alavara (1999). The reactions and criticisms that he got when these boks were published are very important fort he perception of his poems in literary world. In this thesis, with this acceptance, these reactions ar given place when starting the analysis of each book. Each book is analysed seperately in terms of structure, theme, way of speaking and manner of telling. The expansion and the poetic manner in his poems are made clear.
